POULTRY DIVISION

The Poultry Division was established in 1944 with the sole aim of providing the basic raw materials (eggs), for the production of poultry vaccines and yellow fever vaccine (for humans).
The main activities of the Division include the  production of  fertile eggs for the production of vaccines. Chicks are also produced for the testing of vaccines for quality control. It also conducts adaptation studies of exotic breeds of poultry such as Japanese quail, Canadian geese, ostriches, guinea fowls, etc.
